Akara
🍁
Good day, Dearies
Wherever you are
America
Ethiopia
Antarctica
Sudan
China Town
Or even under a rock 😂🤭
As far as you have access to the internet you must have heard of the special Nigerian snack known as "Akara"
If you had by chance lived in Nigeria you'd probably see a Nigerian kid been sent very early mostly on Saturdays to buy Akara for the family's breakfast
Akara in my own believe is a Yoruba word that means 'Bread'
Though the snack is mostly known in the english language as 'Bean cake'
Uhh... That rings a bell right
It is mostly popular by the name bean cake instead of the original name
Akara is made from soaked raw beans; thus the name bean cake
After the bean seeds are soaked, the outer coat are peeled off and the beans grinded into a paste
Spices are added to it for taste and the paste fried in deep hot oil
It is fried until it turns into a crispy, golden brown ball
It is mostly eaten hot with bread, pap and a variety of other stuffs
I can vouch for it's taste as it tastes exhilaratingly wonderful
Have a try of it some day and comment how it tasted
If you haven't tried it out I compel you to try it out ✌️
Before I leave come closer 😜
Shhhh... Let me tell you a secret
If you ever find yourself in Nigeria and you want to have a taste of the golden brown delicacy, pronounce it as Akara as it will appeal you to the seller and you may also get an extra local friend and also an extra Akara ball
Thank you and have a nice day
Tobi Bodunrin
Peace✌️
