How are you all doing 

There is a new trend in Nigeria known as the "Osim" trend 

Osim is actually a word form the eastern/igbo part of Nigeria known as "You say"

It trended recently on different social media platforms 

"Osim" is mostly used when someone lies about something like for example: some deportees , instead of telling the truth of being deported lie as if they had come back to the village to get married 

So in that case they would say in Nigerian pidgin language

"Them deport you from abroad 'osim' I came back to marry you" 

Meaning ; You were deported and then you said I came back to marry you 

They are also other different forms of osim trend 

Like 

"You know sabi book osim school na scam"

Meaning: You are not academically smart but you said school is scam. 

"Insufficient funds osim network problems"

Note: This is most likely when a Nigerian guy wants to send money to a woman and because he has insufficient funds , he lies saying that he can't make transfers because of network problems

Meaning: you are having insufficient funds instead you said it's network problems

This and many more are the different 'levels' of the Osim trend
